How are counseling sessions conducted?
Sessions last 50-55 minutes. Most clients are seen once or twice per week in the beginning, then, as treatment progresses, less frequently. The number of sessions depends on each person’s needs and can be discussed openly with your therapist.
How long will I be in counseling?
Of course the length of treatment varies with each person, the nature of the problem, and the agreed-upon goals. Some discrete, clearly defined issues can be resolved in 6 to 10 sessions, but many people find value in continued self-discovery and consistent support of long-term treatment.
What if I want couples counseling but my partner won’t participate?
Each person must make their own commitment to counseling, and unfortunately one partner may be resistant to the process relationship repair. However, it is still possible to improve relationship dynamics with one partner focusing on the behaviors they control and the way in which they contribute to the patterns in their relationship.
How much are your fees? How can I tell if my insurance will cover my treatment?
