Amber Carter, LMFT
I have a collaborative approach to mental health where I will join you on your journey and together, we can create meaning from your personal story. My sincere hope is that my non-judgmental and accepting approach will offer a welcoming and safe place where clients of all backgrounds can feel empowered to achieve their own change. I am an LGBTQIA ally passionate about treating complex trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety and relationship / family conflict. I accept clients ages 16 and older and work with individuals, couples and family systems.
I was born and raised in Texas and have made my home in Wichita, Kansas since 2008. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Houston and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University. I am trained in Gottman Level 2 for couples and am working toward becoming trained in EMDR for trauma treatment. Adventuring outdoors is my happy place and I love learning from my clients whether that be a new song, new place to eat, some new trend that passed me over or a mindfulness technique that has really been helping.
